Personal editorial
Bali, without the postcard
A test shoot turned editorial: minimal architecture, hard light and oversized tailoring — on an island usually sold through jungle and sunsets.
01 · Idea
An editorial that doesn’t look like Bali.
Castaway Model Management offered several models for test shoots. I chose Sarah and decided against the usual island look: the moodboard was minimal architecture, hard contrast light and oversized fashion pieces.
- CastingSarah, chosen from Castaway’s test-shoot shortlist for presence and a strong silhouette.
- LocationPREDMET.KABAKABA Resort: raw concrete, glass and volcanic stone.
- StylingOversized tailoring and black silk — hard to find on the island, so pieces from cordero.gallery and my own wardrobe.
- LightTwo looks, two lights: the beige suit in soft dusk, the black pieces in hard sun.
02 · Moodboard
References for the shoot: mostly monochrome fashion campaigns, raw architecture, oversized tailoring and hard light.

03 · The series
Grouped by look, so the change of light reads as a decision.
Look 01 — beige tailoring, dusk
Look 02 — black silk, hard sun
